Pretty much every night when I get home from work I have an urge/desire/want to make some kind of cookie or treat. However, while baking cookies every night might be delicious, it is not exactly good for me. Or my husband. Or probably the people that I work with that would get leftover cookies every day.
So sometimes, I try to make my treats on the healthier side. Doesn’t the word “muffin” just sound healthier than “cookie” anyways? 😉
These were a bit too oatey tasting for me – but the chocolate chips definitely made up for some of that. I know I SAID I wanted to make something that was healthier……but that doesn’t mean its more delicious that regular chocolate chip cookies 😉
These do definitely have a chocolate chip cookie taste to them though. They don’t just taste like muffin batter with some chocolate chips thrown in.
Ease: A-, there is a little bit of prep work you have to do, but otherwise no harder than making chocolate chip cookies!
Taste: B+, they were really close to being what I wanted them to be. Either I need to get used to the oats, or omit them and substitute with something else.
Would I make them again? Yeah I think so. As soon as I can get used to that slightly grainy texture of oats in them, I would imagine I will be making them quite often! 🙂
