Chocolate Chip Dough Balls

Yup, I did it.  I decided to jump onto the Dough Ball bandwagon.  But with sooooo many versions out there now, how do I decided which one to make?

Chocolate chip cookies are my first love, so I decided to make the Chocolate Chip Dough Balls I found on The Chic Life.  You can find the recipe here.

These were not at all hard to make, and Diana does a good job of letting you know what different steps are going to be like.  For instance, when you mix the wet and dry ingredients together, the dough gets pretty solid.  I was glad that Diana assured me that it was supposed to be this way.

Some things that frustrated me about this recipe: There are wait times.  The dough needs to refrigerate for at least 20 minutes, and then she says to let them cool for at least 5-10 minutes when they are done.  Plus the baking time.  Sorry, I get impatient.  When I make cookies, I want COOKIES!  But I waited and tried my best to stick to the recipe. 🙂

It was SO worth the wait.  These babies are delicious! I was kind of afraid that they were going to go flat because they weren’t refrigerated long enough (I said I’d TRY) but everything worked out well.  I also really like the amount of balls this makes.  It is enough to eat some now and save some for later, but it isn’t SO many that you feel like you need to bring plates over to your neighbors – or in my case, to work.

The only problem was making myself stop eating them. 🙂

Ease: A-, there is a bit of wait time involved, but other than that, they are no harder than making regular chocolate chip cookies.
Taste: A+, oh so good.

Would I make them again? Absolutely.  And I’m looking forward to trying other kinds as well!  Next time, I think I’ll go for the flax egg instead of the real egg though.  I didn’t exactly love the fact that I may be eating raw eggs.  I’ve never used flax eggs… that will be another first.

2 sleeps until Christmas.

What is your favorite Christmas tradition?
